Holiday Rental in Coja, Arganil, Central portugal

Getting to Coja is very easy!  There are flights from the UK to both Porto and Lisbon airports and the road system is very good with toll motorways linking all the major cities.  If you wish to drive through Spain you can take a ferry to one of the Northern Spanish Ports. 

Portugal is within easy flying distance of the UK.  Flights are approx. 2hrs duration and are from most major airports in the UK to either Lisbon or Porto.  Once in Portugal car hire is available from most major car hire companies at the airport.  The toll motorway from both Lisbon and Porto to Coimbra is very good and quiet compared to UK standards.  From Coimbra to Arganil it is mostly dual carriageway with a good A class road on to Coja.  Driving time from Porto is approx. 1 1/2hrs and from Lisbon 2 hrs.


If you are driving from the UK there are ferries from Portsmouth and Southampton to Bilbao and Santander in Northern Spain.  The drive from the north of Spain to Portugal is again easy with mainly motorways.


The road system in Portugal is generally very good although some of the smaller places are off the beaten track.  Roads are much quieter than in the UK with less volume of traffic.  There is also a good train system between the major cities.

Porto Airport

Most major airlines fly into Porto including BA and TAP.  Cheap flights from Ryanair and Easyjet are available into Porto.  Driving time from Porto is appro. 1 1/2hrs. 


Lisbon Airport

Most major airlines fly into Lisbon including BA and Tap.  Cheap flights are available with Easyjet to Lisbon.  Driving time from Lisbon Airport is approx. 2hrs.


Faro Airport

Flights into Faro are both schedule and charter.  Faro airport serves the South of Portugal including the Algarve and is a 5 hr drive from Coja. 


Barril de Alva

Travelling to Barril de Alva following the same directions as travelling to Coja.  Barril de Alva is approx. 2kms to the West of Coja.
